Rampant discrimination against whites in Atlanta, D.C. labor board uncovered

The city of Atlanta, Georgia appears to have a racial discrimination problem but not against blacks, but against whites in their hiring practices. So much so that a Fulton County commissioner says that Fulton County, where Atlanta resides, needs to hire more whites as reported yesterday by Phil Kent, an author, media consultant and a panelist on “The Georgia Gang”.

The acknowledgement that more whites need to be hired in Atlanta didn’t come from a white county commissioner, it came from Robb Pitts, an African-American County commissioner when he sent out an email and said, “I would encourage the county manager to find ways to inform all ethnicity's when new positions arise and make a concerted effort to diversify our employee base.”

Fulton County, where the city of Atlanta resides has had its share of racial discrimination against white job applicants with the number of lawsuits filed in the past few years.

In one case and widely reported on several Georgia media outlets, Doug Carl, became an interim director of the Fulton County Department of Human Services in February 2007, and when it came to being promoted to director, he was denied because he was a white male and County Commissioner Emma Darnell, who is black, had stated, "there were too many white boys on staff".

Subsequently, he filed a racial discrimination charge and in late 2012, a jury found the basis of his lawsuit as being factual and was awarded over a million dollars.

Kent profiled a few of the cases of white racial discrimination dating back several years as well as the fact that according the Census Bureau, the county is nearly identical in racial demographics yet blacks in terms of employment, represent 83 percent of the county government jobs.

However, it appears the pattern of racial discrimination against whites is not only present in Atlanta and Fulton County, but also at the Public Employee Relations Board in D.C. where a few days ago, it was reported that Ondray Harris, an African-American executive director of the Public Employee Relations Board in D.C. stepped down because of a requirement and demands that no whites be hired.

In that report, Hans A. von Spakovsky, a senior legal fellow at the Heritage Foundation and a former counsel to the assistant attorney general for civil rights at the Justice Department, stated that Harris stepped down because two members of the board complained over his hiring of a white female, Erin Wilcox, because they perceived her "as being conservative or politically right-of-center."

The issue of discrimination against whites has risen under the Obama administration and with the introduction of the Office of Minority and Women Inclusion (OMWI) amendment that was added to the Dodd-Frank financial regulation bill in 2010, it has received more visibility.

While the OMWI amendment pertains mostly to government financial institutions, its backdoor affirmative action in disguise. The amendment was added by socialist-leaning Congresswoman Maxine Waters (D-CA) who is also a member of the Congressional Black Caucus to support a racial and gender quota system when it comes to employment.

Waters has been the center of attention for several years.

In 2001, Waters called Los Angeles Mayor Richard Riordan, who is white, a "plantation owner." During the L.A. Riots in 1992, Waters stated that the violence was a "spontaneous reaction to injustice." She further stated that "economic, social, cultural, and political" factors responsible and that the riots should rightly be called a "rebellion" or "insurrection."

Waters also co-sponsored a bill calling for reparations for slavery to be paid to black Americans and more recently at a meeting in 2011 said, "This is a tough game. You can’t be intimidated. You can’t be frightened. And as far as I’m concerned, the ‘tea party’ can go straight to Hell, and I intend to help them get there." In 2012, she also called Republicans, demons.

Diana Furchtgott-Roth, a contributing editor of RealClearMarkets said in 2010 of the OMWI, “With the new financial regulation law, the federal government is moving from outlawing discrimination to setting up a system of quotas. Ultimately, the only way that financial firms doing business with the government would be able to comply with the law is by showing that a certain percentage of their workforce is female or minority.”

Furchtgott-Roth was on to something when she also said, “This latest attempt by Congress to dictate what "fair" employment means is likely to encourage administrators and managers, in government and in the private sector, to hire women and minorities for the sake of appearances, even if some new hires are less qualified than other applicants.”

So not only has discrimination against whites been occurring in Atlanta and at the Public Employee Relations Board in D.C., it also shows a pattern of political racial and gender agendas, especially now under the Obama administration, across various institutions. It is highly unlikely that these are isolated cases.
